Having played the current/original Guild Wars for a while and then giving it up to go back to WoW, I’m not sure what to this about a “sequel” for this game. Given the path of MMO’s like World of Warcraft, it seems like the expansion route is the better way to introduce and add new content to the game, not necessarily a whole new game. I played Everquest religiously for years, when EQ2 came around, I played it but it didn’t have the same appeal and charm as EQ1. It was certainly more polished graphically with some better character and equipment options, but it just wasn’t the same. WoW has achieved that balance, I think, through the use of expansions. At any time, I can venture back to an old part of the world, not by loading a new game, but simply by traveling through air and sea. I’ll certainly give GW2 a chance when it releases (as the dev’s say, when its done..) but for now, I will continue to enjoy my WoW.
